ACNC consultation

Posted by Chris Westworth on 1 April 2014
Last week, the ACNC repeal bill

(the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (Repeal) (No. 1) Bill 2014) was referred by the Senate  to the Senate Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry and report, with a call for submissions by 2 May 2014.

Charities and not for profits have their own complexities and giving them their own regulator was the culmination of years of lobbying and consultation by the sector. We view the proposed repeal as as a backward step and are making a submission to that effect.
